I just had my dinner. A bowl of chicken porridge. Alhamdulillah.I complained to my friends this afternoon saying that ive had enough of chicken porridge and was thinking of eating out. Well, guess what? i didnt. I was thinking about how wasteful it would be because eating out would cost me a lot and lead to spending unnecessary money that i can save and the thought of how it would hurt the feelings of the maid who went through the trouble of cooking. I would know how it feel because ive been in many situations where i cooked and no one ate.Its very depressing, really.
Then, came dinner which was a few minutes ago. While eating, a thought came to me which made me scared. We are so fortunate to have so much food that we get so 'jelak' of food so easily while others have no food, they just starve and eventually die. Then as i was gargling, another thought came to me, if Allah was to take away our food or water supply, even all the modern technology and riches in the world wont be able to save us.NAUZUBILLAH.
oh Allah, forgive us if we were ever unappreciative. And guide us to the right path. Amin.
Saalam.

EARTH DAY 2010
HAPPY EARTH DAY.
REDUCE,REUSE,RECYCLE.
Throw your rubbish in the rubbish bin and not in the rivers.Put all items that can be recycled in the correct recycling bins.
Switch off all electrical appliances when not in use.
Cut down on bathing time to save water.
Take the public transport, walk or cycle when going out instead of driving.
Respect the earth and not ruin in, so that future generations can appreciate the wonders that God has created.
Assalamulaikum

nail umbrella
I came across a television programme which featured new inventions which we will see and probably use in the future. And one of the items featured was the television which shows pictures in 3D. wow! how cool can that get? it has always been 3D movies, but now we can watch television shows in 3D and in the comfort of our own home. How convenient.
A few days back i was having my usual 'lepak' sessions with my friends, one of them told me that she saw the '3D TV' in an electronic store being sold.
The next day, a brochure on the '3D TV' was sent to us along with the newspapers.
so i guess, we might switch to '3D TV' soon? or maybe '3D computers' in the near future.
Imagine the horror and action movies that we can watch in 3D. Life wouldnt be as BORING.
But imagine the danger. How about those sleazy ads or shows with bikini clad women in 3D? or if a 3D computer was created and our children had access to restricted sites which allow the viewing of porn videos in 3D?
Obviously we dont have the power to stop it,but we have the power to control or restrict our children and protect them from the 'dangers' of technology.
Modern technology like the computer and television has its advantages and disadvantages. It makes our lives easier, its more convenient and saves time. Also when used properly, it can be viewed as providing valuable information eg; documentaries and the internet.
the more modern we get, the more challenges we face especially when the next generation gets exposed to all sorts of things. Its up to us on how we are going to solve it.

dhikir and peace
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger
Muslims always find peace of mind in dhikr. This fact is stressed in the Qur'anic verse that reads ( Who have believed and whose hearts have rest in the remembrance of Allah. Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest!) (Ar-Ra`d 13:28).
Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states:
Anxiety and worry can be overcome by seeking refuge in Allah through consistency in dhikr. As Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim has pointed out, dhikr entails manifold benefits, the most important of which is that it brings us closer to Allah while keeping us away from Satan, who whispers all kinds of thoughts and suggestions in our minds and hearts. The next most important benefit of dhikr is that it removes all feelings of grief, worry, and anxiety from our hearts and bestows on our souls true serenity, joy, peace, and bliss. Allah says, ( Those who believe and whose hearts find tranquility in the remembrance of Allah. Lo, it is in the remembrance of Allah that hearts find tranquility) (Qur’an: Ar-Ra`d 13:28).
